Every SEO marketer’s ultimate goal is getting their website ranked on the front page of Google. Preferably the number spot.
Secondary search engines like Bing are not even considered.
This ultimate goal does not come easy at all in most instances. It is almost similar to the quest for the Holy Grail. The competition is fierce and the throne is heavily guarded by Google Bots.
If that wasn’t enough, the holders of the throne usually have high credentials. The position holders are often heavyweights. That’s right. You’ll have to deal with high trust factor(TF), domain authority(DA), powerful backlinks and oodles of social proof.
It is especially more difficult if the top positions are held by big companies and authorities that Google favors. Hint: Wikipedia.
So how can you penetrate that fortress?
I’m glad you asked…
Here are three ways to benefit from first page rankings without being on the front page organically...
1. Utilize Google Adwords platform to advertise so that your adverts can appear above the organic results.
2. Find someone already ranking for your chosen keywords then send them an email to inquire about advertising on their website.
3. You can give the Big "G" something it likes in the form of great content in structured data tables.
It is sort of techie, so instead of trying to explain to you myself, I will defer to the professional definition:
“For the most part, structured data refers to information with a high degree of organization, such that inclusion in a relational database is seamless and readily searchable by simple, straightforward search engine algorithms or other search operations; whereas unstructured data is essentially the opposite.”

Basically with structure data you can create a summary within your content that makes it easy for Google bots to read. A great way to do this is with bullet points. When this is done correctly, your content has the possibility of ranking above the organic results. This can happen even if your site does not rank on page one.
The thing is Google does not hide this information. The search engines call it rich snippets. In fact, Google explains it to you exactly how this works. If you click on link below the rich snippets that reads “About this result”, it will take you to a page that breaks it down.
What description won’t tell you is how to structure your data so that you have a chance of winning these golden nugget rankings.
But I will…
Google wants you to believe that this is just a random occurrence. This is somewhat true, because nothing with Google is 100% guaranteed, but you can definitely enhance your chances.
To do this, you’ll have to learn how to implement structured data code into your website content. There is plenty of information on it online. You can even find quite a few courses that explains this procedure.
Or if you are not techie like me and don’t want to spend hours scratching your head…
You can use a plugin in WordPress that helps you to created tables of content that you can inject into your pages. The plugin I use is called TablePress.
This plugin is also very easy to install. Once you create your table, it generates a code for you to add to your content. And that’s it.
Now you can increase your chances of landing that elusive front page status. One last thing, if you notice that another website is already ranking using this strategy, don’t be intimidated. Take into account what they have done and try to improve on it. Remember, you don’t have to re-invent the wheel.
